COLTS CONTINUED TO PRESS AND HAD ANOTHER SHOT AT GOAL THIS TAYLOR BALDIE'S SHOT WENT OVER THE BAR.
GLENROTHES HAD THEIR CHANCES EARLY ON BUT JUST COULD NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SOME SLACK DEFENDING. AFTER 20 MINUTES COLTS HAD ANOTHER CHANCE BUT THIS TIME CRAIG BEGG JUST SHOT PAST THE POST. AFTER 23 MINUTES COLTS SCORED NO 2 A GLENROTHES CLEARANCE WAS WON BY COLTS MIDFIELD AND THEY PLAYED IN CRAIG BEGG WHO BEAT HIS MARKER AND SCORED.
WITHIN 10 MINUTES GLENROTHES WERE BACK ON LEVEL TERMS, AFTER 28 MINUTES COLTS DEFENCE GAVE AWAY A PENALTY AND THE GLENROTHES STRIKER PUT LYALL CONSTABLE THE WRONG WAY. THREE MINUTES LATER THE GLENS GOT THEIR SECOND AFTER ANOTHER MIX UP IN DEFENCE THE GLENS STRIKER MANAGED TO KNOCK THE BALL FROM THE KEEPERS HANDS AND SLIPPED THE BALL INTO THE NET.

EVENTUALLY WITH ALMOST THE LAST KICK OF THE GAME GLENROTHES GOT THE EQUALISER. COLTS CLEARED THE BALL AND THE GLENS DEFENDERS SHOT AT GOAL WAS TOO HIGH FOR LYALL CONSTABLE, SO THE GAME WENT INTO EXTRA TIME.

Sunday, 07 September 2014 Tom Morris Under 14´s Scottish Cup
St Andrews Colts progressed to round two of this year’s Scottish Cup with a nine goal victory over Luncarty. Two from Taylor Baldie and one each by Lewis Stephen and Craig Begg had the Colts four goals up at half time. A second half hat-trick by captain Dylan Syme and goals by Grant Aitken and Tommy McKinnan completed the scoring.
Aitken nearly started the scoring in the first half with a low shot that travelled narrowly wide after a Baldie throw had sent him clear.
Luncarty then had their first attack of the match but Alasdair Reid’s shot from outside the box was gathered by Lyall Constable.
Begg broke the deadlock in the ninth minute after a Scott Cunningham picked him out with a free kick from the centre circle and Begg controlled the ball calmly and placed it into the net.
Cunningham could have scored himself just moments later but Connall Doogan produced a fabulous low save from the free kick.
The early stages of the first half were characterised by good Luncarty counter attacking breaking up fast paced St Andrews attacks which were often caught by the Luncarty offside trap.
The Colts managed to evade the offside trap around the middle of the half. Baldie used his strength to get through on goal and hammer the ball over an advancing Doogan.
The Perthshire side rallied and some good link up play allowed an Ethan Reid cross to be laid into the path of Alasdair Reid whose shot was held by Constable.
Colts quickly doubled their lead. Cunningham sent Stephen down the wing and his cross curled into the net. Then a couple of minutes later Baldie scored his second into an open goal after an unselfish pass from Begg.
Luncarty had the last say of the half when James Simpson’s shot went narrowly wide after Ethan Reid had blocked a Constable clearance.
St Andrews had most of the possession and were in the ascendancy in the first half with lots of good play and crosses from the wing. Luncarty had attacked well but their balls beyond the defence were being gathered before they could cause problems for St Andrews. Their attacks were largely orchestrated by good passing from Lewis Turriff.
Half Time: St Andrews Colts 4-0 Luncarty BC
St Andrews started the second half in much the same way as they ended the first. A long cross by Baldie evaded everyone but Aitken who was there to nod the ball in.
Peter Visocchi then had a chance to score. He fired a shot over the bar after evading the defence to get on to a Josh Stoddart throw.
Syme’s header during a scramble in the box from an Aitken corner had the Fife side six in front.
Constable kept hold of his clean sheet with a terrific save. He brilliantly tipped over an Ethan Reid shot from outside the box that was heading for the top part of the goal. Before the resultant corner was delivered and constable held a strong headed shot from Jordan Fielding.
Syme scored a carbon copy of his first goal with a quarter of an hour still to play. Another box scramble allowed him to head in another great corner by Aitken.
The colts had two more chances in quick succession Baldie nudged the ball into the path of Cunningham whose shot was saved well low in the corner of the goal. Then a fantastic Michael Fielding tackle blocked away a Baldie shot.
Ethan Reid then displayed some fabulous skill. He produced several Cruyff turns in quick succession to escape down the wing before he was forced out of play.
In the last few minutes of the game McLennan shot low and skilfully across the face of the goal and into the far corner. Before the captain Syme completed the scoring and his hatrick. His thrity five yard volley flew majestically over everyone’s heads to divert in off the post.
St Andrews can be confident going into their second round tie while Luncarty can now focus on maintaining their good start to their league campaign.

2001's
9-1 win for the 2001s, started game really fast and put pressure on them right from the start and high up the pitch, and had a 2 goal lead within the 1st five minutes, game then settled down and we were playing some good football, getting the ball wide and into our forwards creating really good chances and managed to be 5-0 up at half time, 2nd half followed the same pattern as the 1st with us playing with width and causing them problems all day, again creating plenty of chances, going 8-0 up, they pulled one back through a good counter attack goal, we finished the game strong and made it 9-1, Grant Aiken,Taylor Baldie and Craig Begg all getting 3 each, great team performance and could have been double figures, team- Lyall Constable, lain Thomson, Dylan Syme, Lewis Davis, Alex Thomson, Mathew Cuffley, Taylor Baldie, Archie Renton, Edwin Finsterbrough, Grant Aitken, Craig Begg, Subs- Callum Wishart, Josh Stoddart & Lewis Cunningham

Sunday 23rd March 2014
Excellent 9-0 win for us today, played some excellent football, getting the ball wide and into the forwards creating good scoring chances.
We worked really hard as a team and put them under great pressure right from the start and scored 2 goals in the first 5mins.
Boys kept on working hard and was 4-0 at half time, after a slow start to the second half we picked up and kept playing good football and taking our chances scoring 5 goals in the second half.
Couldn't have asked more from them today, great team performance.

Tayport 3-4 St.Andrews Colts
A keenly contested local derby in which the Colts conceded first after just 2 mins with a great strike from 25yds,
Colts equalised with some good play down the right hand side before Matthew placed it in the far corner.
Colts again conceded 2 more goals with both of them being a long ball through the middle which caught out the Colts defence, This never stopped the Colts and once again the Colts pulled a goal back with a carbon copy of the first goal when Matthew again finishing the move off.
Just before half time the Colts were awarded a penalty and Grant stepped up to make the score a highly entertaining first half going level at 3-3.
The second half started with the Colts playing all the football in the Tayport half and totally controlling the game, plenty chances came and went and it wasnt until 2 mins from the end the Colts deservedly score what proved to be the winner when good skill from Grant beat his marker and shot into the corner of the Tayport net.
This was a game in which the Colts should have won by a bigger margin but overall very pleasing with the performance shown, and with a few boys still to come back into the squad it looks promising.
Good results boys.

Brechin City Youths 2 - 0 St.Andrews Colts
The Colts made the long journey north to Brechin this week to carry out league duties in what turned out to be good conditions for a football game.
The Colts began rather scrappy for the first 5 mins but then began to play some good football. They had good opportunities with good passing and positional awareness in the first half, The Colts were playing in a new formation, which took time to getting used to, but as the half wore progressed , it started to look promising.
The Second half was a slightly different story, The Colts went a goal down after a corner at the start of the half, and then their heads went down.
Brechin had a hunger to win and Colts struggled with making challenges and closing their players down.
Unfortunately , a penalty was conceded which put the Colts 2-0 down, Colts tried hard to come back and had a good few attempts on goal which troubled the Brechin defence but never quite good the slice of luck they needed.
In summary a decent first half with many positives and a poor second half which lacked tightness, hunger and a desire to win.
These are things which we are needing to improve on and hopefully keep moving forward in the right direction.
